Musical Background:
"Some of my musical experiences include the production and direction of many guitar shows, ensembles, concerts, and master classes. I have written and arranged thousands of chord solos, seven of which have won DownBeat awards. I have performed professionally at a variety of events including the Crystal Charity Ball, the Houston Rodeo, Jazz Festivals, and a performance for the President of the United States. I have also produced & recorded over 10 CDs for students, professional musicians, and local churches over the last 2 years. I have also authored several demos, jingles, and chord solo books.
Teaching Experience:
"For 31 years, I was the Director of Jazz Guitar and Electric Bass at Booker T. Washington School for the Performing Arts, Dallas’ premiere Arts Magnet High School. There I instructed many students who through their education were recognized as DownBeat winners, many of whom have since been recipients of Grammy awards. I was recognized for my commitment to music education when Booker T. Washington received a Grammy Award as a Gold Grammy Signature School. My Arts Magnet students have also performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival for five years running. I have been a guitar instructor at Eastfield College, Mountain View College, Brook Mays, and Pangburn Studios as well."
